Kevin Richards
Goalkeepers
Marty Ellacott
Marty retired from playing regular football at the end of last season but has been called upon as emergency back up due to Keiran Blackburn’s transfer to Newport County. Marty is vastly experienced goalkeeper who experienced European football with Ton in the UEFA Inter-Toto Cup back in 1995.
Outfield players
Phil Clarke
Phil is a fit player who operates in a wingback capacity for Ton Pentre. The former Grange Harlequins player can execute pinpoint crosses. Phil joined the Rhondda Bulldogs in the 2006/07 season.
Adam Lewis
Adam is a wingback who has joined us from Troedyrhiw. He’s had Welsh Premier League experience with Grange Harlequins who he joined from Merthyr Saints. His experience should be valuable for Ton.
Ryan Morgan
This will be Ryan’s second season at Ynys Park after joining the Bulldogs from Maesteg Park Athletic for the 2007/08 season. The defender was impressive last season and easily secured his first team place with excellent performances.
Jamie Thomas
Jamie is a young defender who joins Ton Pentre from Treorchy BGC. He should gain valuable experience at Ynys Park.
Gareth Wharton
Gareth is a fantastic signing who spent last season with Merthyr Tydfil. He is a difficult defender for attackers to get around. He’s a Rhondda boy who’s previous clubs include Newport County, Carmarthen Town and Cwmbran Town.
Steven Edwards
Steven joined the Rhondda Bulldogs for the start of the 2008/09 season following the midfielder’s involvement in our pre-season fixtures. He should prove to be a useful signing.
Andrew Hughes
Andrew is a fans favourite at Ynys Park and returned to the Bulldogs last season following a spell with Pontypridd Town. The dynamic midfielder has been appointed Player Assistant Manager this season, a role which Andrew is thoroughly looking forward to.
Shane Brewer
Shane has signed for the Bulldogs from Welsh League Division Three club Aberbargoed Buds. He’s a talented player that has featured for Newport County and Yate Town.
Liam Hutchinson
Liam signed during the January transfer window from Cambrian & Clydach Vale. He’s a young skilful player with a bright future. Liam is the son of former Ton Pentre hotshot Carl Thomas.
Alyn Jones
Alyn is a firm favourite at Ynys Park and was the recipient of the Goal of the Season Award for his strike against Dinas Powys last season. Alyn is an intricate player that is capable of unlocking any defence with his incredible skill.
Christopher Jones
Chris is a very exciting player that spent last season with Caerleon. He has pace, skill and a wonderful finish. This young striker will be looking to make an impact at Ynys Park this season.
Scott Cook
Scott has joined the Bulldogs from South Wales Senior League outfit Tonyrefail BGC where he had the reputation of being a skilful player who can hold the ball up with ease. With his quick feet Scott can get himself out of tricky situations.
Ian Jones
Ian joined the Bulldogs from Afan Lido in the January transfer window. He’s also played for UWIC, Ammanford and Goytre United before returning to Afan Lido for the 2005/06 season. He scored 42 goals in all matches in 2006/07 and signed for Welsh Premier outfit Haverfordwest County prior to the 2007/08 season. Made a handful of appearances for them but suffered with injuries, he then re-signed for Afan Lido in January 2008. Scored two goals on his Ton debut against Caldicot in January 2009.
